Hi everyone!
This is some sort of newbie question... but I have to start somewhere.
I want to design a gas pipe. Where should I start?
The gas pipe I want to design is used for transporting methane.
I've been given the
- max. pressure of 40 bar, min. pressure 29 bar
- nominal diameter of the pipe is 500 mm
- max transport capacity is 1.0 mld mc/year ; min transport capacity is 0.3 mld mc/year
- length 7.5 km
* Also, I've to decide where the pipe will be underground and where it'll be suspended in the air.
I'm looking for the best economical solution, like any other engineers, looking to make it the most efficient pipe at the lowest costs.

With these things in mind, where should I start? What books should I read?
I downloaded many of pipeline courses on the forum, but I'm not sure I'm doing the right thing. I'd like to stick with a single one which will teach me the what to do, following many directions is getting confusing for a newbie like me.
If you could give me some directions, it would be great.

Please help me if you can. Thank you very much!
