Hi folks,
I am trying to understand a particular design for a vacuum swing adsorption system. This particular system is being used to dehydrate a gas stream using zeolite 3A with two packed beds (one regens while the other is in the pressurized adsorption cycle).
What I do not understand is how they designer chose the flow rate of regen gas to supply to the regenerating column. The regen gas comes in the form of a slip stream split off of the dehydrated product flow. They are recycling approximately 50% of the dehydrated product back for regeneration which seems astonishingly high.
Any assistance is duly appreciated!
