I have questions about Hydraulic Fracturing, which follows:
1. Please Mention the name of Hydraulic Fracturing Methods ( Just Names )
2.which one the methods is more efficient in Gas reservoirs(Makes Wider Fractures) !? and which one is more efficient in Oil reservoirs ?!

From the top of my head: hydraulic fracturing is when you inject fluid downhole and pressurize the wellbore such that the fluid is not able to leak off fast enough and rock -----s eventually.Originally Posted by farzadt
When you say "methods" what do you mean? There are different types of fluids (water-based, oil-based), different placement techniques (through Coiled tubing, by means of jetting tools, conventional hydraulic fracturing through tubing and packer, acid fracturing, etc.
Also, there are some techiques when you try to control the proppant settling while pumping and attempt to generate desired fracture geometry: e.g. "proppant bridging at the bottom of the fracture and prevent growth downwards to water").

Regarding fracture width, it is generally accepted that low permeability formations need less wider fracture. However fracture in low-perm formation should have extensive length and safe height to provide reasonable inflow of hydrocarbon fluid (be economically viable).
Therefore, if the formation has high permeability (>30mD???) it needs short but wide fractures. Fracture conductivity should be sufficient to transmit flow from fracture surface to the wellbore.
