Can someone pls assist with a spreadsheet to calculate the volume of Nitrogen needed to purge a 3km, 6inch liquid petroleum gas line and the time required to dilute the line.
Can someone pls assist with a spreadsheet to calculate the volume of Nitrogen needed to purge a 3km, 6inch liquid petroleum gas line and the time required to dilute the line.
A=area of pipe
L=length of pipe=3000m
Pa=atmospheric pressure
Pn=normal pressure=1bar
Pc=capsule pressure say 200bar
Qc=capsule volume say 50 Normal litre
so Vp=A*L ,m=Pc/Pa then n=number of capsul=Qc/(Pa/Pc)*safety factor(related to filling fluid say 1.5):
A=0.0019625 m2,so Vp=A*3000=5.8875m3 ,m=200/1=200,n=(50/1000m3)/(1/200)=10*1.5(safety factor) =15 capsule(50 litre,200bar pressure with 1bar atmsphrec pressure)
HI Arezoo
please tell me what is your calculation reference?
thanks
