Control Valve Response Time For Slug Catcher

Dear Friends,

I am working on optimization of controls on a Three phase separator. Three phase Separator also work as slug catcher and receive the fluids from the Well flowline through a manifold. It level is controlled through a level control valve installed on Feed line to the Separator.

There are five inlet separators working in parallel. Feed inlet line size is 20" for each separator. Level control valve size is also 20" and it butterfly type valve. My question is the typical response time for control valve in such service.

You have to size the control valve based on normal, max and min flow rate and time between NLL and HALL. Process engineer should forward this info to instrument engineer
