CLadded vessels heat treatment

HEy guys imm working as a QA/QC engg in a fabrication comp.

we hav a 50mm thk MS base plate and on it 4 mm thk clad of SS. but during the forming of dishends we cannot procced without the intermediate heat treatment of that heavy thkness dishends
by normalizing otherwise the dishend will be formed with -----s .

Can we do the normalizing of the DIsend (For MS part -sa516 gr70) but thn what abt the CLad( SS- 316l). wont that create the a problem ????????

As ASME section VIII-1, you have to preheat 200oF before cladding and after forming. cladding before forming is the bad way to do. Normalizing of formed head used to make the head distorsion if you couldnot control the heat input.

cladding has to be done before forming.

You can never do the explosion bonding process on the formed dishend .
