Dear Friends,

I am working on a Pipeline and Well fluids reception facilities at the Central Processing Facility (CPF). There is a 50 km, 16" diameter pipeline from Wellhead to CPF. At CPF we have Pig receiver and a Finger type slug catcher to receive the well fluids and potential slugs.

I have two questions related to this:

1. What will be design code for Finger type slug catcher, ASME Sev VIII (Pressure Vessel) or B31.8 same as pipeline.

2. What will be the sizing criteria for Blowdown valve on finger type slug catcher is it really required if design code is B31.8.
