Thread: Mechanical Run of pumps

  1. Mechanical Run of pumps

During precommissioning phase Mechanical Test Runfor the pumps is done with water ,but for some pumps it is not done. Is there any Thumb Rule or criteria to decide whether we should do it or not?

Not quit sure what you asked. I understand that some pumps have not been tested or fail ?
Generally, before Installation, you shall have approved procedure and statement already. Now before you go to pre-commissioning which is very important stage, you also shall have approved procedure and method statement. The document shall clearly say what to do, follow it letter by letter. It requires by contract not any thump rules. If I am the commissioning head, i will not use that pump in Fully test.
