Hello

I'm am looking into the sizing a particular component of a 3 phase separator. The separator design is simple as it is a rental unit. The oil is separated from the water and the oil overflows a fixed weir and goes into the oil section. The water is removed before the weir and out of the water nozzle. The gas is separated and goes out of the gas nozzle.

I need an equation or are text source that I can use to calculate the hight of the weir for oil as the fluid. I have read about weirs but they use water. As oil is more viscous than the water the coefficient of discharge for oil will be different. I have read about calculating Coefficient of discharge for rectangular weir using Rehbock equation but it does not take into account density or viscosity.

Can anybody provide advise on this. Information must be available as it has been designed but need some guidance on where to look. Or if someone knows to tell everyone reading this on how to do it.

Regards
