  1. Question Project Engineering Planning

    Dear Friends
Do you have any practice or guidelines on how to plan engineering activities and deliverables planning in a project?

I want to coordinate different engineering department and want to know about the followings:
    1) when different deliverables in a project must be prepared respect to each other.
    2) when information or preliminary documents should be issued by each department for use by other departments such that the other department can start his work and the jobs can be done in parallel.

if anyone can help in this subject I will be very thankfull.

    thnks

I am working in different projects in the filed of power, utilities, steel, etc.
In each project some information or documents are predecessors for preparing other documents. For example P&IDs are predecessor for preparing piping plans or architectural works of buildings can be started by receiving the required area data from I&C or Electrical department for their control room or electrical rooms. In order to enable each department to start its own portion, other departments should issue some information or documents to that department with some internal issue such that the whole works can be done in time. My question is about 1) proper time for such internal issues within a project. I want to have some figures; for example after elapsing one third of the time required for preparing final P&ID it should be internal issued to other departments?!! 2) the sequence of preparing documents in a project?

    I hope above explanations works

  10. Regarding deliverables sequence, I think there is some standard procedure. For example in process department, the sequence of producing PFD, PID, process description, etc. shouldn't be a black box to experienced people. the same is applicable to other deciplines as well. Please share your knowledge about above items.

    Regards,
