A mud logger is an eye to a geologist. To be a good mud logger, one needs to have a keen interest and sharp eye on details. your experience increases depth by depth, sand by sand, well by well and field by field. Every well behaves differently and so is the data. With every new assignment you will learn something new and add on to your skills.
The job of a trainee mud logger is very difficult and strenuous, working in adverse situations under harsh conditions, washing drill cutting, washing them and making representative samples. Things go really bad on rainy days and winters. Mudlogging is the test of your patience.
