Evaluating Lube Oil Cooler

I've tried to evaluate existing oil cooler using HTRI software because the oil cooler tends to under performance.

The oil cooler is B*A*S*C*O 0*5*0*1*4, I found its specification from internet. When I entered the specification to HTRI and run it. The result were:
1. HX under design -67%
2. number of tube 47 only instead of 80 as per specification
3. B-stream flow fraction is very low

I've tried many ways at least to increase number of tube until same with specification but failed and HX still under design

Can HTRI be used to calculate or evaluate small and compact heat exchanger like this?
Could anyone help me how to solve it?

Hi al_kuff,
actually I also in the middle of examining lube oil cooler Basco type...but I am not sure about the specification. My HE was built at 1993, so my datasheet was lost. but I suspect my HE model is Basco type 500.

I think you should consider doing manual rating (hand calculation) and simple check using hysys...
