NFPA 780, Brazilian NBR 5419, IEC 62305 says that it has to be an electrical continuity between the roof and the bottom shell of the tanks and the shell has to have 4.8mm thickness for the structure to be lightning self protected. The tanks has to be also more than 6m of diameter for additional grounding instalations not to be necessary.
Can I use a micro-ohmimeter such as mpk-254 passing 1A through the metalic outer shell structure of the tank to do this test? All the norms specify that it has to have a continuity but they don't say how to measure it!
If I am supposed to do this test, can I do it with the inflamable substance inside or do I have to empty it first?
