Thread: I hate Instrumentation

  1. Unhappy I hate Instrumentation

Note: I am not blaming to anybody. After reading this, If any one hurted I am very sorry. I want to share my feelings to all, and choose this is the right platform.

I don’t know, why Industries wants only experienced persons. Freshers did not get any opportunities without any references. Why?
I am very struggling to find right Job in the field of Instrumentation. Of course, I got job in one of the most popular MNC Company as Shift In charge in production Dept. But, I resign the job after doing one month. Because, for every person Job satisfaction is must. With out job satisfaction, the Job is useless, even we got good salary. I can not put my full effort to do that Job. That’s why I resigned that.
My experience tells, with out any reference we do not get any Job. To explain this reason, I want to share my one of the experience. For do my 6 months Academic project, I approach all Industries (at security gate only) around my city. No one can not give permission to do project with out references. They ask references like Employee, working in that Industry or MLA,MP etc. I was surprised…then, how an ordinary student will do the project in industries.

I don’t know why Industries want only experienced or reference candidates. If, they want only experienced candidates, then how freshers will became experienced one.

After searching the jobs in Instrumentation field (with out references), I am realized that,
They are several training institutes are there for freshers, in Instrumentation field with providing 100% placement. Course fee is about 40-50,000(very huge!!!).One of my friend join in that. But, after completion of course, they provide sales man job with 5000 salary. Then, why we spent money in those institutes. I have a doubt, really, they will provide good placement for me. I am confusing now to select the best Institute providing Placement and which course can have more opportunities now(Automation or Lab view or In tools or AutoCAD etc). Unfortunately each course is about 40-50,000.

Please. Any one can suggest me. Is my thinking is correct or not. How to get job in the field of Instrumentation. Which course and institute is best in India.

I don’t want to waste of my time. I have a lot of interest in by learning new things in Instrumentation field. So, I am spending time to do that. But, I think it is waste..why I am always think about Instrumentation…Why I will learn always these things. Till now,I did not give any Job. That’s why I Hate Instrumentation.

    Thumbs up Relax

Dear Brother-Relax, you are too concerned with what you will be, job hunting is not a easy process it not only requires preparation and time, it requires dedication and continuous effort. Every engineering dept. is like a organs of the body, i cannot cut my leg and walk or see without eyes-stop there. / Start your career with small company even though salary is small, learn and move to company having wider scope on the same dept.(this process even takes years) and try instrument manufacturing companies / reference is not a thing-if you don't have any stuff the company will automatically kick you out / don't circle around in your city or country - move on.

    Keep trying-don't give up(ever)
    All the Best

  5. Hello Friend,

I understand your trouble to face things with respect to job. For any instrumentation Engineer the first salary may be very low but after years on experience they will get the best salary to my knowledge. Only thing is you need to excel in the field of instrumentation. Initially if you are interested in Instrumentation there are many fields first decide yourself what you need the most money or work satisfaction. You have given up in the initial stage only that is very bad. You are talking about your friends who are getting a lower salary. Just ask them their salary after an year of their service you will understand the importance of instrumentation. Never hate your subject. may be you are in depression. If you need something try and try until you succeed. Love your subject. Tell the people how much you love the subject, which makes people understand how desperate you are on the subject and they will try to help you. You said you are under production department. You might have consulted some people, make ome rapo with people and execute your communication skills. thats it. You suddenly quit the job and there is no one to ask you right. But if you are with a reference you must be having some responsibility to tell them that you are going to quit the job. Industry is not for an individual it is working as an organisation. they need long lead items but not the people who quit the organisation when ever they feel like. Be positive Things will be positive. If you like some thing be faithful to it man.
Instrumentation is my subject and i always like it even if it gives a lower salary to me. That should be the spirit

  7. go for Mtech/MS..no point going for those part time short courses.. all the branches of engineering are good enough to give you job satisfaction in the end.. it will take time you have to wait for it and continue your study..you dont want to get screwed up in that one interview call you may get..would you?
