Thread: Overheat during multicore process

  1. Unhappy Overheat during multicore process

When i fire a process using 100% CPU of all 8 core of my Intel core i7 processor, Laptop, it starts heating up after 5 min, and if i left it, the laptop power off after 20-25 min. If i stop and resume for 10 min and 10 min off, it can continue upto 1-2 hours.
Is it Normal to use all the core like this or i can't take advantage of multiCPU processes.
Is this Abnormal poweroff is damaging my laptop?
Any suggestion of any kind, how to use properly and optimally, in such cases.

  3. Go for and provide some sort of cooling at the place where the CPU is placed in, that the only way you are be getting away from this...
