Thread: Pressure loss and velocity change along the pipeline

  1. Exclamation Pressure loss and velocity change along the pipeline

    Hey all,

We are working on pipeline simulation. There are few things which we have observed like the well flowlines are showing decrease in velocity and decrease in pressure along the length of the pipeline, i am not sure what could be the exact reason for this.
As far as i know, decrease in pressure will increase the flow velocity.
But i m wondering that may be frictional losses are so dominant in the pipeline section that it is reducing flow velocity.

What is the fluid....... oil or gas? Has the fluid been charachterized? Have you checked for choking of the lines due to some depositions?
