Hi Saada,
Liner is a tool Not a operation, the Operation is Liner running, setting & cementing.
Liner: It is a casing, which is hanged from existing casing with the help of some hanger ( having some slip & packing arrangement)
suppose You have lowered 9-5/8" casing upto certaing depth say 2500 mtr, now your target pay is at say 3600 mtr. You have drilled upto the desired depth. Then you can case the hole by lowering 7" Liner from existing 9-5/8" casing, instead of running a full length casing of 7" or 5-1/2" upto surface.
It saves cost & Time.
For Running & setting Liner:
1. Liner casing Pipe.
2. Float shoe & Collar
3. Liner hanger
4. Liner running & setting & cementing tool
See: Weatherford, Baker, TIW etc Brochure
Completion:
Completion is the operation, to complete the well for Production.
Types of Completion:
1. Open Hole completion ( The pay zone keeps open, No casing through pay)
2. Slotted /Perforated Liner/Gravel Pack completion ( Slotted/Perforated Liner latched to the previous casing)
3. Cased-Cemented & Perforated completion ( Final production casing through pay which is Cemented & production by perforating the casing and through Tubing or Casing or through annulus)
4. Permanent Completion (Final production casing through pay which is Cemented , Rub Tubing, Install well head, Tubing hanger, X-mas tree, thern Perforate by TTP system, for High Pressure wells)
BHA: Bottom Hole assembly- the set of tools which is at the bottom section of drill string- consisting of (sample BHA)
Conventional: Bit+ Bit sub+ Near bit Stabiliser (NBS)+ Drill collar+ x-over sub+ HWDP
Directional drilling BHA:
Bit+Bit Sub+NBS+UBHO-Bend Sub+ Mud Motor+ Drill colar+ HWDP
Stabiliser: Stabilser is a tool having some blades over its body, which provides stabilisation to the Drill string
It gives:
1.Control hole deviation.
2.Reduce the risk of differential sticking.
3.Ream out doglegs and keyseats.
Types: Integral Blades, welded blades, Sleeve type which may be again Non Rotating Type & Rotating Type
Reamimg:
Reaming is the operation of enlarging the undergauge hole to full gauge , by cutting the formation by some rolling cutter rollers. It is similar to Stabiliser, but only difference is that, it have rollars instead of Blades, which are free to roll when the BHA rotates.
i do appreciate your help sir thanks a lot
