Some of our storage tank erected near cooling tower. The distance is approximately 150 ft. The vapors causing corrosion of the shell, roof and other accessories of the tanks. In this condition what paint/coating should be used or what is the minimum distance between cooling tower and storage tank. If possible please mention the reference.

use epoxi bases paint

The problem will not be the paint but the preparation of the surface, any contamination from the cooling tower will lift any coating.

a good preparation is the base of a good painting
preparation with SA 2 1/2 at least
