Hi,

Looks like you are a start in this field. Terms you mentioned are very fresh, half and half. Actually command to the control valve is generated from PID controller (a very familiar element of controls, located in small controller, mini PLC, large PLC, DCS, etc.).

Luckily nowadays Internet brings us together to share each other on may stuffs.

You should start from the ground floor first, don't be so hurry and confuse when you see many many e-books come up ( believe me, many many ...)
