hi all!
In Annex G Section G.2.4.2 a) we have the following equation:
φ = (sin^-1) x / r
What does the unknown "x"? and how can you calculate?
Because in G.2.1.2 the definition does not explicitly
thank you all

Hello,
Have a look at fig G.2.4-2. 'x' is the radial distance from centre of the applied load. If you set 'x' to equal 'ro' then the stress at the edge of the attachment will be calculated. This is usually where the highest stress occurs. If you set 'x' equal to a larger radius then the stress further away from the edge of the pad will be calculated.
oh! that's clear to me now!
thank you very much
now i'm dealing with the supports and his influences on sphericall shell....
can you help me with that?
thanks

there is a note near that relation "see Figure G.2.4-2 and Figure G.2.4-8"
So you can see "x" drawn in Figure G.2.4-2
As you can see, x is a variable needed to define the point where you calculate Mx, Mφ, etc. That point is defined by x (distance from the axis) and φ; but x and φ are correlated by sinφ =x/r, as you can easy see in that figure.
Edited: Sorry, I missed Karloss 12 replay!
