Thread: Required thickness for Integral Flange (special Design)

  1. Required thickness for Integral Flange (special Design)

    hi Friends,

I'm designing a special integral flange, I need to know how to calculate the required thickness of the flange,

Should I use the same formula for calculating blind flange as specified on UG-34 ASME on page 35?

    Regards,

  5. Chunlin,

yes I'm using App. II but it does not say as to how they calculate the flange thickness on a weld neck type flange,

but for the special blind flange they refer you to UG-34 for the formula used for flange thickness
