Thread: Simulation of Deethaniseur In Hysys 3.2

  1. Simulation of Deethaniseur In Hysys 3.2

    Hello all,
I have probleme of simulation detthaniseur column in Hysys, I simulate Designe case, but Actual case not converge; can anyone have a lot of experience in Hysys simulator Help me, it is urgent

all what you have to do is to make sure that the presure difference across the column make cense, and neglect the temperature profile for husys to estimate.

i.e simple procedure for your case:

    chose the fisrt dist.
    chose full reflux
    name all the streams"eg:F,D,W,qc,qb"
    go to next

chose presure profile"ie:if the feed is at 250 psia for example chose the overhead pressure 248 psia and the bottom pressur 250 psia "to linearize the pressur profile accrose the column.
    click next
leave the temperatures for hysys to evaluate so it want inter act with the basis of thermodymanics.ie: unmark this"3rd page" and leave it blank

at the last page click on run and enjoy your simulation.

    All the best

for De-Etahnizers, put the column in full reflux and use the following specs :
    - Ethane composition in reboiler liquid phase
    - Propane composition in condenser vapour phase
with this degrees of freedom will be zero (make sure not to put other specs).

use a column of 20 trays as a start point then, you can decrease to the optimum (watch the reflux ratio).

Than re-position your feed stream to get the minimum reflux ratio (be careful not to enter your fluid on a tray where deta-T is very high. A maximum of 10°C is aceptable)

This will converge immediately... take it from a 15-Year experience buddy.

    Dear Mohamedellejmi
    Nice explanation.
Can you advise similar tips for Debutanizer and Condensate Stabilization column.
    Thanks in advance

    Useful one. Thanks.
