Can any one provide me the details of the calculation & suggest any suitable book for referrence.

Bro, use NFPA 10 as guide for selection, sizing and spacing/location requirements. You can browse the standard in the NFPA website for free but you cannot print it. I recall someone shared NFPA 10 in this forum. Use "search". The standard has some sample calculations.
