Can we cope the excessive hoop stresses at the horns of saddles of horizental vessel?If yes then please elaborate the method other than given below
1. By increaseing the shell thickness
2. By using Wear Plate
3. By using stiffening rings
4. By increasing the distance between saddles
5. ????????????
6. ????????????

yes dear it can be done, move the saddle cloder to heads, width of weart plate sould be at least equal to 1.56*sqrt*RT more than with of saddle, where r is vessel radius,and t is its thickness. increase contact angle of saddle and wear plate.
