  3. Dear Megha ,

End blinds will be thicker and cost more money, it is a blind flange . An end cap is relatively cheaper , mostly these are used on headers . For dimensional details of these items please see dimensional catalogue of any pipe fittings manufacturers. An end plug is also a blind ,but with no bolting , it is fillet welded to the header.
Trust this helps until some one more knowledgeable answers.

    Best regards

    Thanks Venugopal,

But I think that ,there are end plugs with threads ,basically used for drains and vents of small size for lower pressure systems. and end blinds are used for high pressure systems. This is a thumb rule, but I don't know, where plug and when caps are used. Please clarify it.
    Thanks in advance.

  6. Your are right. Screwed fittings are used in low pressure application ,generally on process equipments and piping at less than 5 bar. The practice is to adopt flanged or welded joints on pressure applications .

    Bye and regards

    Hi megha123

In the natural gas industry we use plug (mild and stained steel) NPT threaded up to 35 bar.
