I suppose it's different from company to company so it's very hard for anyone to tell you the right answer cause true answer probably not exist.. but always it depends; if you have experience in your scope, your earlier experience and knowledge will play the major role in whole thing...if you're just fresh from the college - then it's another story..

Some questions which i face during interview,

1) What is diff betn code and standard?
2) How many codes are used when u design a PV.?
3) How do u decide max pad size for a large nozzle??
4) As per theory hoop stress is PD/2t but ASME section 8 Div 1 uses not same equation. why?
5) Do you use section 2 ever? if yes then when do we use it?
6) what is MDMT? how Value of MDMT is useful to designer/fabricator?
7) what is PWHT? when to apply it? and by which clause?
8) which material's do till date used to make PV?
9) what is diff betn SA 516 gr 65 & gr 70? what is diff betn SA 515 & SA 516?
10) Do u use SA-36 for Dish head ? if yes is there any other special requirement for use it??
11) What is Max size of dish head do u fabricate?? what is finished thickness and design thickness??
12) Which clause do u use for nozzle area calculation? explain its general logic.
13) How do u calculate welding strength/stress?
14) How do u decide crown radius and knuckle radius for dish heads?
and then another questions on PVelite software's bugs and limitations....
