SEL applications

SA, general design of the Protection System...

I am a newbie as an EE, but I have to agree with SA, not all SEL program is a 100% free maybe AcSELerator Quickset and Compass the other requiring a purchase license (LEC). I am not sure if there any program out there for general design of the Protection System and if there is protection engineer is no longer needed. I have been using SKM to simulate all the fault values and rest are simple hand calculations with the aid of codes, industries practice, and Multilin or SEL for program the settings. However, if there is such a software please share.
