  3. I could now down load the file, the problem was mine, I was perhaps too dumb, I was attempting a down load through download accelerator , due to it it was getting saved as a php file. It got saved as a pdf file after I by passed download accelerator.

    Thanks a lot to all.

It is a good article, explaining how in a situation where ordianry software based analyst gets misinformed .

Infact if any one reads all Dr Pengs papers, some where Peng also wrote in a very curt way that there could be misleading solutions if some one tries an analysis on software alone .

Then there is a good demand from the younger brothers, they want a set of practical piping analysis problems and solutions. It is a genuine demand . May be the experienced members could post some Ceaser input files

Thanks and regards a lot to all

  7. Dear Mr Paldex and Kishor.

I have sent a mail with the above article to both of you.
These gentlement can get back to me if they have not recieved it .

It is a case history of retrospective analysis as to why a pipe failed in service. It shows how a good analyst could have predicted the possible failure before hand. Specifically how the failure could have been known before hand with dynamic analysis using Ceaser and a good finite element analysis tool.

As a novice I often tend to get carried away with a simple static anlysis solution and consider a pipe as safe if it passes code compliance test.

Knowledgeable people like who has first shared this article forewarn us to become more mature, more knowledgeable.

This article cautions us to know what more should be seen in by the analyst.

A good forum like this should exchange similar articles, case histories , and enlightening tips so that the knowledge levels increase.

I genuinely look forward with interest to see who responds to the younger brothers request for step by step guidance on how to do a piping analysis.

To them my first advice is read Ceaser users guide, technical reference manual . There are a couple of multimedia presentations in Ceaser to understand step by step procedures. Try them young brothers.

    Best regards

    Venugopal
