so much of things to consider especially if you have too different reservoir and the well is commingeled through both reservoirs
permeaiblity difference might be a cause so if the first reservoir has lower perm but higher kv/kh it might do better than the second
if the second higher in permeability but lower in kv/kh it is much easier to be short circuting ,for instance, for water to be produced and reducing the oil
producing the first reservoir only might show a better performance than producing both at once, for sure it depends on the properties of the drained area
might be other areas are commingeled but the performance still good and acceptable
