Two gas questions… pipe and regulation.

Hi all, I wanna know if someone can give me an equivalence for 150# to pipe sch… I mean is there any table for # to API pipe? Because # is for fittings not for pipe… thanks…

The second question is if there is a guide ore book for Regulation and measure stations for gas pipelines…

    thanks

  3. I am so surprised that 150# spec is not for pipes. I am using them as pipe specs everyday

150# corresponds to AA, AB, AD, AR, AT, AX..... specs depending on its service.

Maybe I misunderstood your question .

  5. Hi, first thanks for reply mi post, second you don’t misunderstand my post… We have been using # for pipes but then I try to look for the thickness os a pipe based on ASME ANSI and API and trying… then I wasn’t able to mach # with and schedule, I can follow for fitting set a pressure and then look for a schedule…
But that is why im not sure that it is correct if I say 6” 150# there is no and schedule ore thinness specificated, and as far as I see is no correct if you are using those specifications…

But I’m asking because im not sure, if im wrong please write the steps using the specifications for matching a # pipe whit and schedule.

    Sorry for my English…

  6. A schedule number indicates the approximate value of the
expression 1000 P/S, where P is the service pressure and S is the allowable stress,
both expressed in pounds per square inch (psi). The higher the schedule number,
the thicker the pipe is. The outside diameter of each pipe size is standardized.
Therefore, a particular nominal pipe size will have a different inside diameter
depending upon the schedule number specified.

    Trust it helps

  7. Thanks but that is not what I think I am asking... I know what schedule is, what I try to say is that is not correct to define a pipe with # and diameter...

    # is just for fittings and valves…
