Can you please throw some light on external corrosion monitoring techniques in cross country pipelines and how its is linked to ECDA.. If you can help me in this iam very very thankful to you sir.........

Unfortunatelly I dont know anything about corrosion minitoring in crude oil pipelines. I have some expirience in natural gas pipelines where there is a cathothic protection with dc power that is monitored remotely with testing points in every section.
When current increases they can cut the sections and find by local measurements the leakage to the ground.
