    any body here know about shaly sand ?

    could u tell me what exactly it is ? and is there any e-book i can download ?

    ^ for my final project..;D

    sand is a sedimentology expression mean the grain size diameter between 2 mm and 1/16 mm , if compacted and consolidated it called sand stone.
    there is also silt and silt stone wich has grains between 1/16 mm to 1/256 mm
    and the smallest is clay , clay stone and shale (if highly compacted) smaller than 1/256
    shaly sand is bad facies reservoir (not clean wish high ratio of fine grains) which effect the reservoir parameters such as porosity and permiability
    we can calculate the shale content of reservoir using many loggind tools at well location, and also from seismic but with lower accuracy between wells
