Question - why messages now have * * around words?

is a configuration on the forum* vbulletin* for example can be banned 4shared word and be remplaced per *** it for not have links on the website. ; coma is remplaced per ** or even c******ck word is repmlaced per ****

this only reflects egpet users interest and the results are being highly influenced by users area (i think many if not most are from arabic countries). i doubt the real global usage/interest looks even closely related to this (could be that ETAP is at 95% there/lol/i hope not). also many software packages cannot be really compared (PSCAD with ETAP or CDEGS with PLS-CADD for eg) so it's not really a market analysis but more one to reflect the biased interest egpet users have. some other very good (imo) electrical software is basically neglected here (PSS Sincal is just one of them). at my place for eg ETAP is not even in top 3 and in many other european countries is the same.

Because it converts commas to asterixes instead. I use ; in place of commas.

Why does it do it for a comma. I also noticed that the word k i n g d o m is also banned.
Seriously there's some paranoia in some forum platforms. I know that a comma is grammatically powerful; but to fear the comma is taking things a bit far don't you think? A comma isn't a coma. A Coma is a scary thing but a comma isn't.

That's the point to your question about every one wanting all those SW. Even remembering how to use excel is a brain tease when you haven't used it for a while; so how does every one work out how to use all those SW they all want so bad??? And why don't they ask for tutorials or user manuals?

Hmmmmm....... how many users are there really and how many collectors and re-sellers? I'm still using MS office 97. Works fine on my windows 95. Who needs more I ask?

Egpet should be called Iranpet as that's where most of the contribution is coming from I thinks. (Iran has always had the best forums; even I know that and I'm not from an Arabic Nation) ETAP is popular because it was promoted as being able to be used by any one with no prior electrical or engineering knowledge and from what I've seen it's pretty well true. It has dumbed down consultancies completely and those users that operate it have no idea of the theory behind it or why or how it works and that's what ETAP was designed to be for; so the real engineers with the real knowledge can be working elsewhere on other parts of the project that require their full comprehension. ETAP also has so many integrated modules and that's why PSCAD and PSS-Sincal have withered away. ETAP is Digsilent PF for dummies; but you pay for that usability in its price. None the less ETAP is one super smart program even if its users aren't.

I love going through the old 1940's; 50's; 60's and 70's pre-computer engineering designs; back when engineers really had to know what they were doing and when they worked out the calculations with their trusty slide rule. They had to understand every concept and worked often from first principles. Now we think we're so smart with our smart SW but the reality is the SW is smart and not us. No matter how smart we are we can't match the SW speed; iterations and accuracy. So AI wins. (I do love those iterations though) We instead become facilitators and not Engineers. At best we've become technicians.

I know Surveyors who walked away from the profession because in minutes a drone* with radar GPS and SW can do the calculations and triangulation that would have taken a surveyor years to do. Surveyors have become obsolete. Engineers are next.

That chart must prove this forum isn't dominated by re-sellers; it's dominated by engineers of sorts. Why? Because there is no way re-sellers could get the ratio so perfectly right as that pie chart shows. The Pie chart is significant proof !!! Egpet has a future !!!

Also the demand from re-sellers has decreased over time since the "need" was filled by previous versions and now people just "want" the latest versions.
