Impact Test Pressure vessel (PD5500)

Dear sir,

i have a query regarding impact test my MDMT is -28 C so i want to ask what will be my impact test temperature according to PD5500 and also tell me diffrence between MDMT and design reference Temparature.

Hi Ayyazakram,
Appendix D.5.1.1 of PD5500 give you the procedure how to calculate the design reference temperature which dependents on the minimum design temperature as adjusted for the level of membranes stresses, the construction categories and the heat treatment of the assembly.

the term MDMT is ASME designation and is the temperature at which impact is carried out, as opposed to PD5500 which uses the reference temperature for the testing.
