Dear All,
I try to compare wall thickness design using ASME B31-8 and DNV OS-F101. I found that ASME using specified minimum yield strength (SMYS) and specified minimum tensile strength (---S) to represent material strength. IN DNV, it uses characteristic tensile strength (fu) and characteristic yield stress (fy) instead of SMYS and ---S.
What are the differences of these terms ???
