Thread: help about reservoir questions

  1. Question help about reservoir questions

1-what is the difference between water injection and water flooding?

2-is water flooding considered tertiary recovery?

    true or false
    (A) tortuosity is used for accurately calculation of recover factor ( )
    (b)relative permeability depends on mobility ( )
i think the reverse is true what about you?
(c)water saturation from well logs more accurate than from cores( ) why?

(d)volumetric reservoir has constant reserve( ) and what is meant by volumetric reservoir?

(e)numerical simulation can predict reservoir shape and structure( )

    Re: help about reservoir questions

1-what is the difference between water injection and water flooding?
A: Injection is for pressure maintenance and flooding also includes sweep, it requires more detailed reservoir study.

2-is water flooding considered tertiary recovery?
Yes, it can be, when commingled with CO2 or other chemicals.

    true or false
    (A) tortuosity is used for accurately calculation of recover factor ( )
    (b)relative permeability depends on mobility ( )
i think the reverse is true what about you? [Reverse it TRUE]
(c)water saturation from well logs more accurate than from cores( TRUE) why? [Core Handling might cause ambiguities, moreover logs acquire saturation info at subsurface conditions, but cores need to be cleaned first]

(d)volumetric reservoir has constant reserve( FALSE ) and what is meant by volumetric reservoir? [The reservoirs with no external source of energy. (RESERVOIR includes HC only) external sources like aquifers, injections, gas cap etc)

(e)numerical simulation can predict reservoir shape and structure(FALSE) GnG activities are used to do so.

In true and False, question (A) is still unanswered. A petrophysicist can better answer it. Have you got it?
