Hi

We are in a process of injecting 98% H2SO4 in a process line using plunger type metering pump.

Please clarify me the following doubts,
1. I understand that the gland packing in the plunger pump can leak and mix with the oil bath and corrode the power end of the machine. Am I right & is there any other problem which will occur in this pumps

2. When I'm planning for an alternative of single diaphragm pump, Still im facing the above said problem when the diaphragm ruptures.

From the above two points Is it that only double diaphragm pumps with rupture detection is suitable for the 98% h2so4???
Then why the metering pump manufacturers are still providing plunger& single diaphragm pumps for this services???

guide me...
