Section modulus and Moment of inertia

I need a clarification about section modulus and moment of inertia.
what is the difference between this.

Using Moment of Inertia , you can get stress profile across a section under bending moment.
Using section modulus, you will get extreme fiber stress under bending moment. This is more frequently used because we can use value to compare the allowable and select the size.
