i give my experience in power plant project designer.

1) Go to a Comissining team of a real plant - you gain much experience that will be very important when you start to design. You know how the things WORKS, better then some design engineers.

2) what is the field? Plant designer >>> go to a course of THERMOFLOW (USA or EUROPE, may be by INTERNET) or IPSEPRO (Austrisch or INTERNET). You reach experience in design the power plant. After try to make projects already made by others (Siemens, Alsthom, GE,...) and study the reasons of the setpoints.

3) Consolidate the theorical (mechanical) with the software feedback.

4) Gain EXPERIENCE in the field.

5) OPTIMIZE - Study ECONOMIC ENGINEERING. You can have a good technical project BUT....is expensive. You LOSS.

6) Try this for CONTROL, Refinery,...other FIELDS
