Hydrostatic Testing

Hello,
Please i want to ask:
If we want to perform hydrostatic test on DUPLEX pipeline for example, what are the minimum characteristics for water used in that test to avoid corrosion, and how it varies with testing pressure..

First the water used for HT should have less than 50ppm of chlorides.if you areusing sea water then you need to mix with other chemicals such as Corrosion inhibitor,biocide,Oxygen Scavenger and scale inhibitor.More over if you are using color dye do not use excessive Chlorine level.

Duplex SS is used for corrosion resistance.. then how can DSS corrode by hydrostatic test water.. if it corrodes by test water return the DSS to the supplier... they have not supplied you DSS..
