For analysis of eccentric transitions (cones) COMPRESS applies the rules of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1, paragraph UG-36(g).

Because the design of eccentric transitions is identical to that for concentric transitions, using the largest cone angle 'alpha', a similar method can be used to design eccentric transitions with knuckle/flare: model the transition as a concentric transition with the same large end diameter and same cone angle.
