Section VIII code defines safety issues and design requirements for pressure vessels

Pressure vessels are used in a wide variety of industries: oil and petrochemical; chemical; pulp and paper; mining; power stations; and water and effluent treatment plants. The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Section VIII provides pressure vessel requirements applicable to the design, fabrication, inspection, testing, certification and operation at either internal or external pressures. The scope of Section VIII, is to ensure that pressure vessels are designed and built in accordance with the minimum requirements specified and will not pose any threat to life and property
