    Flow assurance project

I'm tasked with selecting host platform options and pipeline option for a discovered oil well.
I am to study the pipping option/ multi phase flow and at the same time design the topside which is the seperator and the tieback etc.
But have no knowledge of oil rigs or what host options or unit operations that should be on the host platform. have been reading and serching but couldn't find much specific info or maybe im looking into the worng direction. At the moment, i'm given the task of deciding between 3 potential host platform 2 at sea and 1 on land. what are the constrains that i should be looking at to chooose between the 3?
Please advice on this. And usefull article or book will be very much appreciated.
    Thanks loads for your time.

Flow Assurance Role : Define Design & Operating Requirements

FA Strategies Are Composed of Up to Three Elements
    - Design Functionality – ex., insulation, flowlines size, umbilical number & size
    - Operability – procedures carried out by Operations staff. Note: for flow assurance, procedures often must be carried within a given time
    - Chemicals – chemicals often used to control FA problems. Ex., methanol, glycol, inhibitors

Need to Balance Costs (CAPEX, OPEX), Ease of Operation, Risk vs. Remediation

    FA Engineer’s Scope Often Includes
    - Corrosion management
    - Erosion management
    - Foaming, emulsions – due to fluid chemistry or fluid additives
    - Well Engineering: Wellbore thermal-hydraulic modeling
    - Enhanced production – waterfloods, gas lift, boosting

FA Engineer May Also Fill a Systems Engineering Role
    - Systems-based decision making
    - Interface management

    Flow Assurance Interfaces With:
    - Project Systems Engineer
    - Pipeline Engineer – line sizing, insulation (external, PIP)
    - Umbilical Engineer – number & types of chemical delivery lines
    - Tree/Manifold – injection points, erosion calculations
    - Well Engineer – completion design, hydrate concerns for annulus
    - Reservoir Engineer – Expected production functions, modeling
    - Production Chemist – chemical selection, produced fluid chemistry

The scope you describe needs to be carried out by a team, cannot be carried out by someone with no experience of even O&G. Require expertise in subsea systems & tie-back design.

    Azad
