  1. Maximum tapered plugging tubes in heatexchanger

    Can anyone tell me, Talking about Heatexchangers, How many tapered plugging tubes can be in a Heatexchanger?

    Theres a code or Engineering norm as TEMA, that apply in this case??

    As a 'rule of thumb' the maximum number of tubes that can be plugged is about 25% of the total number of tubes. Of course the number of tubes that you have to plug will depend on the delta T. If operations can survive with a certain temperature differential then that will determine the number of tubes that you can plug.
