Aspenone 7.2 installation instructions for win7 32/64bit (not using windows xp mode)

hey all. I installed the program on windows 7/64bit. everything looks fine but when I open aspenone diagnostics tool I see only;

aspen framework
aspenone diagnostics
aspenone v7.2 documentation
slm server
slm tools 7.3

there is no HYSYS or nothingelse. how can I install the rest of the tools? I see the tools in folder, but when I press to install them, says that "launching the MSI file is not supported on this operating system. Please launch the install by running setup.exe" but there is no setup.exe. really need help on this, I already read everything you guys wrote and tried few times, always the same. will really appreciate your directions. thanks in advance.

PS: my dvd driver is not working and I'm running program from my external harddisc.

I have one question about the SQL configuration, as I see it is in russian, so I dont understand what im doing during the installation. This seems to be the problem of not working the SQL compatibility upgrade before the very Aspen products installation. Im asking for some help with this, since the video-link u posted on the txt. file doesnt work anymore. Thanks alot

the most important thing of the sql configuration is it must be in mixed authentication mode, otherwise you can't use Aspen database..If you use sql express (just like me) maybe you can't change your authentication mode in your already installed sql, (i had this problem), then try to uninstall it first, before reinstall it. During installation, choose mixed authentication mode. As for the other steps, i used the other guide (the one that don't skip name, password, and domain) and my aspen works fine.. I've tried installed it in Vista 32/64 and 7 32/64 bit and i found no problem..

Anyone who has successfully installed v7.2 and is using HYSYS UPSTREAM. kindly tell me what procedure of the installation was followed.

hi i have aproblem of installation of aspen 7.3 the message is "[unable to aquire the license]

is it a problem of sql installation procedure??

I am also using Aspen 7.2 on XP and Win7 and don't face any problem during it's installation whenever new installation is required.
so would you please let me know what version of SQL are you using?
as Aspen7.2 would not work if Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and Microsoft SQL Express 2005 SP3 are not installed on your operating sytems.
so please get these 1st either from internet or somewhere else. both of these are included in V7.3 DVD's but not in V7.2 DVD. Installation of both of these should carried first before aspen
in addition to that you don't need any thing to do with installation directories, just generate .lic file by running it as administrative and generate liecnece file . when running aspen, just give the path of .lic file when asked. rest of the precedure is same...

choose both when asked for standalone or server.
no need to give passwords just skip it.

do let me know if some thing goes wrong.

the .lic file which you have been using for Aspen V7.2 does not work for Aspen V7.3... SQL is not a problem if you get these with V7.3 DVD's.
and there is no big diff in 7.3 and 7.2 except certain data transfer from simulation to edr files..

any solution for upstream modules which are needed for Neotecblackoil modelling;

all these people who claim that it is working very well are advised to check! select File-New-case; now select fluidPkgs; select add; in 7.3 version you will see three property(hysys , aspen and comthermo); neotecblackoil is now moved to comthermo; so you select the radiobutton for comthermo and then select neotecblackoil; a pop up will appear: Hysys Upstream license not found;

property package will revert to generic comthermo now; if you use generic comtherm then you need to select the neotecblackoil in fluidmodel and flashmodel; however now you will get a popup saying suitable model is not selected for the comthermo package; so version 7.2 or 7.3 or 7.3.2 is not fully functional; please checkup before saying it is okay!

the reasons are like this:
the registrykeys for com thermo is different from 2006.05 especially for com thermo; also when using the network licence for a valid dongle, i found the total licenses were 713 including new liceneses for com thermo;

so we need to see how we modify these registry keys;
