API RP 500 question
I couldn't find an explicit statement in NFPA/API about one group reciprocating for another, but would Group B cover Group D? API states that it should list each group that the specific equipment should be rated for if I am reading it right. So it should be listed for Groups B, C & D, not just Group B. Any comments or further data? Thanks!!

Re: API RP 500 question
Some products cover C & D.
But some one told me that the most volatile component is Acetylene, and the most expensive components for Class I are for Group A.
If you use a A group component, you could use it for A, B, C & D. If you use a B component you can use it in B, C, D. C rated components can be used for C & D groups. this is Only for Clas I.
If you use always use A components your design will be very expensive. If you are designing, you must use the specified group component that is rated. If your flamable gas components is rated B, buy B group rated components. If is C group buy C rated components. this is for cost and securty aspects.
