How to ensure cleaniness of gas pipeline before intelligent pigging

Anyone experienced person in pigging, can tell us how to ensure cleaniness of natural gas pipeline before launching intelligent pig into pipeline so as to acquire better data results.
I mean to say any quantitative limit of muck like .....kg/km/inch dia of muck may be allowed pipelne in final run of cleaning pigging and then ILI run can be done.
