    Dear all,
    Can you suggest method of repair a Dia:25mm hole in sump bottom plate. Before blasting this one was not seem as hole, after blasting hole was observed. UT gauging done , it reveals no reduction in thickness around hole . How to verify whether the product went down or not, and if we do ----- plate weld, what kind of precaution to be taken. Product stored was GO. It is in Shutdown for maintenance, Suggest as soon as possible

      Hi, I'm not a API specialist, but I know about welding. Where is the hole? over a joint or on plate? What is the thickness' plate? We don't know it. You must ensure a full penetration welding, so if you have a 1" (25mm) hole diameter, in my opinion, you should cut a section of the plate where the hole is, and weld a new section.
      Finally, apply NDT like radiography testing, ultrasonic testing, etc.
