  • control valve sizing spreadsheets

hello everyone. i am having trouble with sizing of control valves whenever i stumble upon 2-phase flow lines. some references are giving me Cv= Cg + Cl. Another reference give me a long equation which i use and i get a large Cv value which i dont believe is the right value.

for two phase flow you can model the control valve with HEM (Homogeneous equilibrium) or HNE (Homogeneous Non Equilibrium) models,
these models have been verified by several authors (see the works of Schmidt and others) to give much better results than adding CV (or areas which is equivalent)
the software which I utilize, PRODE PROPERTIES, includes specific operations for solving these problems,
for additional information google for HEM or HNE-DS models.
