  1. How to calculate level liquid high high for slugcatcher??

    Dear my friends,
I need your help to know about how to determine position of level Switch high high in operation of slugcatcher. My gas processing plant designed two slugcatchers with gas flow 4,3 MMSCMD, and level liquid high high of 2 slugcatchers designed in this condition. In near future, my plant will increase gas flow up to 10 MMSCMD throughout slugcatcher, we already have checked capacity of 2 slugcatchers completely hand over all liquid, but we don't know how to check the position of Level Switch liquid is right with 10 MMSCMD throughout Slugcatchers . Can you give me some advises. Thank you so much.

Slugcatchers (three phase separator) is designed based on gas, condensate and produced water flowrate. Slugcatcher should be able to handle maximum gas, condensate and produced water which can be obtained from production well profile also you need to calculate the maximum slug flowrate that needs to be handled during pigging operation.
Liquid level holdup (HLL to LLL) is generally 3-5 minutes based on process design criteria for your project.
